Fortnite's map is now much bigger

Fortnite's map has undergone a significant expansion in Season 3, becoming much larger than in previous seasons. The changes to the island's geography are quite drastic, with the addition of several new points of interest inspired by Greek mythology.

One of the most notable new locations is Mount Olympus, which appears to be a sprawling city built high up on a mountainside. The architecture and design of the buildings evoke ancient Greek styles, with white marble, columns, and statues adorning the streets. Players can explore the winding alleyways and plazas of Mount Olympus, searching for loot and battling opponents amidst the mythological setting.

Another major new addition is The Underworld, a dark and foreboding area that seems to be a reimagining of the Greek afterlife. The Underworld is set in a vast, cavernous space with glowing lava flows and jagged rock formations. Skeletal creatures and other sinister entities lurk in the shadows, adding an element of danger and mystery to this new POI. Brave players who venture into The Underworld will find high-tier loot and challenging encounters with other players and AI enemies.

While these two locations are the most eye-catching changes, the rest of the map has also been expanded and altered to accommodate the new scale. Existing areas have been tweaked and expanded, with more terrain and points of interest to explore. The train that travels around the map is still present, allowing players to quickly move between distant locations.
